Chicken Grease Stains On Cotton

Fiesta Mexicana

Mexico likes to party and large. Always the whole family here, the neighborhood, friends anyway. With Yolanda's family, we were able to experience equal to 3 parties and have been treated like a part of them and that was wonderful. The highlight was surely the marriage of Yolanda and Edgar on 3 January. Since everything was there, what is for a juicy Hard needs: We were the uncle picked up in a red sports slide remained in the transport plug (it is just before Epiphany, the great children's gift festival and all pile up in front of the toy shops) come just in time but to work sloppily, instead of the uncle talks in detail with the parking lot attendant . I find here so admirable. The rest, the concentration of one another, the important business of the other. Yes that is sooooo close to the church and then - wait with the groom in a classic - the always annoying oeser - on the bride. For the even put in a traffic jam. The pastor will be gone and lied to by relatives (you park it!) So that he stays. Well. Scrubbed clean my children lose their shine when playing in the dust, while chatting with Braeutigammutter the church door in me a pigeon craps on his head. The supposedly brings good luck, I found I won urgrauslich.
And then comes the happy bride with almost an hour late, looks quite unhappy, but ready to go and the pastor of the First already want to leave long looooong preaches about horse racing.
The subsequent reception was in a beautiful garden with lovely tables and exquisite Mexican food (the day before to 23:00 in the house where we sleep cooked by their brilliant cooking brother Paco and friends) Mariachi go from table to table and sing about us. The tequila is served in carved out cucumber. Then dance, song and relatives bring Jeremy sings with "Strangers in the Night "is finally in the heart of the bride's father. Quentin is hugged by all and kissed and sleeps finally on lap one of a total stranger. We had too little time to say goodbye to the amounts of all. Thanks for everything. You are so spoiled in Zamora !
left the next day it again with all the luggage to the bus station and on to our next stop of the city of Morelia. This city was by the Spaniards built after its seizure of power and is obtained as a wonderful old town today. It is excellent as a UNESCO World Heritage Site but it is Mexican? cathedral, vast spaces, huge historical building street cafes, a lively student scene, a church on the inside looks like a punch donut with gold decoration. Caspar's highlight was the trip with Toby (For all non-Thomas -.'s Fans, this is a steam engine that looks like an old streetcar, and so a tourist vehicle, we've treated him) I have enjoyed the Suessigkeitenmuseum out only for me quince be reported as typical Mexican specialty (quince and sugar until the Spaniards came) in costumes of the 18th Century has been cooked. On 5 December was great excitement and then all of a sudden roadblock. All children had balloons and waited very excited. The three kings come. On the main stage music and dancers gave as one hour long kept the crowd in good spirits, the securities order, the children behind the barricades and Quentin runs away permanently. Caspar brings him once with a Balloon back. Who has him tied to the hand? Then it's finally happening. First, the Polizeipatrolie, then lightly dressed Bauchtaenzerinnen, stilt walkers, fire eaters, two trucks with nativity scene, shepherds and then the three holy kings. Everyone on horse-drawn carriage with court and thousands of balloons with little note to it (the wishlist and the kings) rise into the sky. The Kings come to the stage where they are received by the bishop and then the celebration is only really going on with Mass at the Cathedral, etc. For the boys there was plenty of excitement and we went home. Thus, a combination of church and fair with me I could not imagine really. The real Epiphany, our boys but subsequently very unceremoniously. We drove 4 (or was it 5? Clear in any case a windchill 10) hours by bus to Mexico City and then to the subway through the city to the next bus. As we went by 8 clock in the evening on a night bus to Salina Cruz. 12 hour drive. The night bus option, we have chosen so that the trip is shorter for the children - after they sleep at night. But rolling out of fear they could from their seats and because Quentin woke up terribly often, and the seats are just not as intended for sleeping then it was for us a very long journey. But a sunrise compensates for some things and then we were picked up with boys slept by Teresa and Angel. Teresa is the daughter of my cousin Mark, and here in Mexico has its Angel found. Now they live until the summer here in the south. They live by the sale of arts and crafts and just had a booth on the beach at Cangrejo over the holidays. Now they have made a few days here with us leave and it was quite magical. We wanted to originally do not go to sea in Mexico (our next stop is even more beach than Fiji and that will not do), but these bursts is very special. Besides us and the fishermen no one was there. We lived in a cottage in the sand, the sea rolls in front of our door. Everything is easy to get water in the house across the street at the fire and cooking, but here it does not fit anything else. Two-way miles of sandy beach, the pelicans on the water and topple Sausser headlong into it to catch fish. In the evening drive out the fishing boats and in the morning can be the returning fishermen buy something before they transport their catch to Salina Cruz. We have our fish then the same for breakfast cooked on the fire (after all, we had no refrigerator). I feel so fresh fish I've never eaten before. The children had great fun in the waves, Quentin, as always braver than is good for him. We fished him out again and again and again and again he is clean gone. During the day it was much too hot to make something. As I was holding only read in the hammock and have book. But in the morning and evening, it was fantastic. Swimming in the red of the rising sun, when the warm ocean almost entirely flat, when two meters next to me about the Pelikanschwaerme sail the water in a perfect landing is already something special. Or a delicious fish dinner on the last night in the best beach restaurant in the area under the (almost) full moon. Recommended. We are now zurueckgesiedelt with Teresa and Angel into her home and stay there for a few days. We are very excited because what we expected, for both all wonderful in this region share with us. Now I have to go home fast. Angel cook the whole day on a special feast, because today is celebrated in their home. Vive la fiesta!
