Monday 29 March 2010 - Udaipur Day 3 and the bus ride to Mumbai

The night was a very mosquito-heavy night and I also still fighting with my stomach problems, but got used to it. Although I woke up early, but had planned for the day more than I could create in the remaining time of the day. But I should have been heading for. I put my backpack like Ines and Pepe before at the hostel owners in the living room now and was on my way to the City Palace & Museum. First, I looked for a way to me for a morning breakfast, and found near the Jagdish temple, a shop with breakfast snacks that were cheap and tasted very delicious. As a few people out there a wheelbarrow with many bananas it slid past, and held just before the shop, I ordered via the shop owner a few bananas. These were very cheap with Rs 15 and also still very tasty. Then I arrived at 11 clock at the City Palace and bought a ticket to the museum without additional ticket for the garden.

With the additional ticket to get over the garden to the boat dock for the Lake Palace and Jagmandir. The boat trip will obviously require an additional ticket. But I had too little time and money, I have finally divided my money yet for Mumbai if I there is no convenient place to stay think. In the next few hours I watched the City Palace Museum comfortable at. Since my admission ticket was without photo permission, I had to give my camera at the entrance. When I look at the first rooms, had I rested on the top floor in a small garden with plenty of shade and a beautiful ambience of something. Fortunately, I had a camera phone with that I use instead of the camera for taking photographs. If I had the phones before, instead of the camera in a camera bag and had the camera in your pocket, so I would probably now be able to use the camera, as it took place after the issue of any further control on a camera.
The City Palace (City Palace) is very nice and essential for visitors to Udaipur worth seeing.

Shortly after the small roof terrace garden, I heard behind me a German tourist group, which I joined. I listened intently to the guide, as he did tell many interesting things about the city Palace. The visit lasted for me so of course longer than if I had gone just to take pictures and admire through the palace, but it was worth it.

meantime, I talked myself with a few people from the tour group that had noticed me and asked interested, why I am in India. I learned that they made a 2-week guided journey through India's Rajasthan, where everything was planned out by the tour operator, booked and paid for. This is of course an easy and comfortable trip, which costs 3.500 € and in this case, for me it definitely is out of the frame. I spend apart from the flight just € 250 per month in India. At the output we parted ways, because the tour group had a ticket to the garden of the palace, then by boat to the Lake Palace and Jagmandir cross over. I absolutely wanted to Sunset Point, because you will then have a nice view of Udaipur. So I ran like the day before about the way to the city palace, which seemed to me in the midday heat further than last night. There, I inquired about the Sunset Point and was accordingly sent a long the streets. As I stood in front of a chair lift, which led to the Sunset Point, I was annoyed because I wanted to run up to walk the long way and now had run. So I ran the last stretch back to the stairs to the Sunset Point and marched all the way to Sunset Point without T-shirt up to in the burning sun tan.
at the top of the chairlift station I filled my water bottle, ran to the left of it back from stone-built pavilions and took pictures from the city palace, the lake and the surrounding area.

Here I wanted a camera with a larger camera angle, because the view was beautiful from up here. While I zuguckte the squirrels at play, I enjoyed the slight breeze, which felt nice and cool and refreshing. I gave the squirrels a few crumbs and a little water, which they accepted with a little patience, too. Then I went to the hilltop to the south along, where a temple and remains of a old fort stood. The temple did not interest me but the fort all the more. I found all doors closed before, but saw that there were probably a few people before I climbed over the wall into the fort remains, what I was doing so well.

I hoped to find a better place for a photo of the lake and the adjacent theater. Even the old Fort was not far enough away and I decided to go to the wall behind it more. At the end of this wall there was a corner tower, which is quite possible the most appropriate place. So I ran to the expected passage of the wall, where access is blocked by a padlock, sent a door was. I looked the door wall and decided to jump them, which worked well with some caution. On the other hand also came down beautifully on the wall, but also vice versa if the works remained to be seen. I ran with the overgrown grass along the wall and noticed that several had been here before me, because it was a path in the grass one.

At the end of the wall was a kind of wall tower, which was no longer intact. From there I had a very good view of the lake and the city palace, which I already was back too far. With my camera I could not have everything and enjoyed the small self-made adventure.

After I was from the tower on the wall went back to the fort, and then came the tricky part. How should I come to the door wall to the top? I found little support from the wall, but enough to make me pull up on the wall.

I just could not slide because it is right next to me went downhill steeply. Skillfully over the door wall to the other side climbing, I went back to the chair of the fort, where I filled up again before my descent, the water bottle and then went all the way back to the hostel.
near the Jagdish temple, I bought a bag of fresh milk, which I then within few meters emptied. So I purchased another carton of milk directly to me I saved for later. Then I picked up my backpack and went back to the Clock Tower by a tourist hotel. Just before the main road I bought still for 70 Rs the same flashlight, as I already had and went with a few bananas in the luggage to the travel company, where I waited for my bus. I waited a whole hour to be on my tour group then sent to another tour group that had a seat for me in their coach. Apparently the buses are filled up with each other to send out instead of half empty buses. My seat was in the back row in the direction of travel on the rear right window. I had been previously contributed to my inquiries that I had enough leg room on my seat and that this is the center of the bus. Now the situation was again very different and I was very disappointed. But another election, I had not. I did not get my backpack under the seat, so I took between my legs. It was just tight.
On the way I read the book either rested or me until we made our first stop to change tires because the tire had to be rewound. That was an interesting action that I see Staring me for a moment. It spoke to me an Indian, whose wife has a walking disability. We wanted to entertain us later on, if we consider for dinner at a rest stop. I used the free time by telling myself a few snacks at a food stand, I had discovered between all the car repair shops. While I ate my snack, I looked interested on the way back to the bus these workshops were anything but clean. There was a lot of oil filthy floor and the people looked as if they would only with great special soap, plenty of hot water and brushes back a long time to get clean. After the tire was changed, went on the ride until we made our next major stop at a large service area with restaurant. Here, people would regularly come by bus or car her to eat or take a rest.
I met the man before, and we were the last ones off the bus and went to the restaurant sat. The road took a bit longer, because his wife with walking difficulties not progressed as quickly. We sat down and it was ordered in addition to the meal and a bottle of Sprite. Then we went around the corner of the restaurant where you could only see us bad because he wanted to drink hard liquor and one in the India can not make in public. He also gave me some alcohol off mixed with Sprite and after we had emptied our cups, we went back to the table where his wife was waiting on us. We ate very, very tasty stuff that I previously had not eaten. I was surprised how tasty the food in India can be when you know what you must order. The man told me the background of the disability of his wife and wants the best for his wife. Suddenly, all down to us from the bus with food ready and already in the bus. He paid the bill and we hurried to get on the bus, even if his wife could not go to the faster bus. In the bus I went into his sleeping area, where we talked more and contact details exchanged. He would like to know that I look around me in Germany for his wife for the latest and best walking aids. You should focus on easier and more practical than the currently existing serious his leg support. He said that the technology in Germany is much further advanced than in India. After the meeting I went to my seat in the corner and tried to sleep a little, it was already late enough for it.
