Saturday 20th March 2010 - Pushkar Day 1, a dry and hot place
The night the train had passed well and with sufficient sleep for a train journey. In the morning we arrived late the night before because of some delay in Ajmer, it was disturbed, however, as it is still early in the morning. Outside the station tried to tell me how to win almost always an auto-rickshaw, but I preferred the nearby bus station . Run Said and done, I made my way to the bus station, where the streets were almost deserted. On the 1 km long road to the bus station just opened to a man's small food stand and prepared chai tea. There I paused for a rest enjoyed a morning chai tea and then sat in the bright morning sun on my way. The way to the bus station seemed to me more than I had imagined it on a design by Arnos friend. Arriving at the bus station I saw rain bus routes and a bus drove slowly with frequent stops. The conductor asked me about my direction, because, and I thought should enter when he "Pushkar" heard of me. The bus trip took about 1 hour and Pushkar went through quite a dry desert landscape on a ridge, which we crossed, to bouts to place behind Pushkar.
In Pushkar we arrived, as had been described Arnos friend, to a small Busstand at the town entrance of Pushkar. It seemed as if the buses only run between Ajmer and Pushkar, because they have already reached their final stop. With my stuff and the map of Arnos friend I tried to orient myself in the city. The guide was so me come with my small backpack unfortunately lost. On the streets of Pushkar was early in the morning, not much going on. Arriving at the recommended hostel, I found no one and decided after about 20 minutes waiting for me after another Hotels convert broadcast. On the way I started with someone from his moped and said that he had an option for me. This I looked at me once because I wanted to obtain prices for other accommodations. He took me on his moped and showed me a good clean room. After a short negotiation, I booked the room for 125 Rs, which was supposedly a "special price" because I was on this day the first book end guest. Then I explored the hotel and took up next to a small in-house restaurant offers a beautiful roof terrace with a reasonably taut clothes lines. So I washed my dirty clothes and hung them up to dry. Then I rested a little, and then explored the city.
A temple in Pushkar:
I knew that at the entrance near the bus stop was a tourist office, which was still closed this morning, unfortunately. In the tourist office, I had received in addition to an overview of Pushkar and its sights, the bus travel times required for the next trip point Jodhpur. The bus leaves for Jodhpur at the larger bus station on the main street until late at night from. After a brief assessment of whether the tourist office had given useful information, I forked on the owner because he had problems with my temporary passport. We then drove on his moped to the local police station, which confirmed him then that everything is all right after I submitted the police report about the theft. The join out then made a copy of the police report and my temporary passport and the problem is completed. From the copy shop I explored the city and ran down the main road, on the sector is also the bazaar. At the same time I was looking for a way to eat cheap and well above all. At the end of the bazaar, I was half-walked around the holy lake dried up.
The day was getting hotter and hotter, so I decided to go back to the hotel, but before eating I have a delicious thali at the local restaurant across from the copy business. Back at the hotel, I lay down and slept all afternoon until late into the evening. In the evening the temperature outside was in contrast to the warm hot day. I wanted to see the "big" bus station and from there climb from the "hill" or mound, because this is a lookout point for Pushkar. The road to the mountain was just around the corner from the bus station and after some time, I was finally up. The way was harder than expected. From the top I had a beautiful view of Pushkar. In the darkness near the lights of houses and lights were to look very nice as is quoted in a small town or village.
went back down and then I made my way back to the center. The restaurant had been closed by noon, so I got to eat there any more. On the very little free space was busy, because many foreigners gathered there, drinking chai tea and other matters in a small cafe. The owner spoke to me even if I wanted a drink and then I all seemed very comfortable, I sat down. So I left my very comfortable evening out and listened as I drank two chai teas, to the meeting. So I heard the German language and joined to two people to me around a little with the other Germans to maintain. Shortly before midnight, I went back to the hotel and heard laughter. It came from a neighboring room, where two German girls were. We talked for a while, until I then in my room and then disappeared in bed very tired.
